The Rams New Logo Is Causing Fans To Freak Out.
What You Need To Know: In 1948, the Rams became the first NFL team to have a design on its helmet when halfback Fred Gehrke painted the horns on the team’s plain helmets. A few months ago, the team announced the famed Rams horns were getting an overhaul. This past weekend, the new design leaked like a reality star’s home movies and the response was less than stellar.
The new design, if real, bares a striking resemblance to the LA Chargers lightning bolt logo. And the “Time To Shine” tagline has been used by the Rams or Chargers previously. Naturally, because football fans need something to do in the off-season and because the Internet beckons criticism, angry Rams fans fell into a Reddit tailspin making it very clear they weren’t happy with the team’s new look.
Let’s Sportify It: The SF 49’ers logo and gear also leaked causing fans to go full Nancy Drew and try to figure out what’s going on. Conspiracy theorists got to work putting together scenarios and theories on this very important topic.
Adding fuel the fire, Rams’ COO Kevin Demoff tweet’d this response to the drama over the Rams new logo.
Since the Rams went to the 2018 Super Bowl and didn’t make the 2019 playoffs, it’s safe to assume Demoff and Co. have a few bigger fish to fry than logos and leaked gear. But it’s nice to see that Demoff has a sense of humor, even if Rams fans don’t.
