Peloton’s Selena Samuela's Secret To Staying Fit: Carbs

Peloton’s Selena Samuela's Secret To Staying Fit: Carbs

I’ll admit, I was giddy in anticipation of my interview with Peloton’s star treadmill instructor Selena Samuela. Four months into California’s strict quarantine, staying fit at home had become a challenge. Having a one-on-one chat with one of Peloton’s stars during a pandemic that has literally made going to the gym impossible, is like getting your therapist’s cell. You don’t want to take advantage, but you do want your questions answered. But while I was selfishly looking to be fitspired on how to stay motivated at home, I knew I wasn’t the only one wanting some hacks from a pro. We are all in this together, trying to stay fit within the confines of our own homes. Turns out it’s not easier for fitfluencers like Selena Samuela. They face the same at-home fitness challenges as the rest of us, but they push through. Selena Samuela comes from a family of athletes and has always been fit. What makes these pro athletes serious dad goals is the fact they seem dedicated to raising good kind humans who aren’t just riding mom and dads’ superstar coattails. And they willingly share the highs and lows of their parenting journeys, offering inspiration, guidance and relatability, to those of us following along. We’re inspired by these dads who makes sports, and parenting, look good. Dwyane Wade Is A Standout Amongst Athletes Who Are Dads The former Miami Heat star is dad to four kids, Zaire (18), Zaya (12), Xavier (6) and Kaavia James (20 months.) 10 Female Athletes' Amazing Relationships With Their Dads

There’s no denying the impact of a positive relationship with one’s dad, especially for female athletes whose dads often championed their athletic abilities from the time they first picked up a ball or racket. Some female athletes are so close to their dads, they’ve chosen their dad to be their coach. Athletes like Serena and Venus Williams were famously close with their dad, Richard Williams, from the time they first stepped on the tennis court. When his daughters first came on to the tennis scene Richard was nearly as famous as his kids. Tennis star Coco Gauff calls her dad, Corey Gauff, coach. And Naomi Osaka’s dad is her coach, too. And athletes like Lindsey Vonn, Megan Rapinoe and USWNT’s Alex Morgan are notoriously close to their dads. For many female athletes dad is a fixture on the sidelines, always there to offer support, feedback and comfort in the event the game didn’t go her way. We love watching these father/daughter relationships between these amazing athletes and their dads. It’s enough to make us want to pick up the phone and call our dads, too. Richard Williams Was Serena And Venus’ First Coach Even though the pro tennis season has…
