When ESPN’s Elle Duncan shared a story of meeting Kobe Bryant, she had no idea her tribute would go viral and spurn the hashtag and tributes #GirlDad.
With tears in her eyes, Duncan shared the story of meeting Bryant a few years ago while she was pregnant. The two got to talking about parenting and Duncan asked Bryant, who was then dad to three daughters, if he’d like to try for a boy. With no hesitation Bryant told her how much he loved being a dad to daughters and how he’d have “five more” if he could.
Duncan’s tribute has since gone viral. And it’s inspired other dad to share their pride at being a #GirlDad.
